“This was a really fun painting for me to make. I’m a pretty big coffee drinker and I get a kick out of using these old coffee cups from diners, which I call ‘Andy Griffith cups’ because Andy and Barney used the same ones! I set up this little still on my kitchen table and moved things around until I arrived at this concise composition. I decided to paint it monochromatically as a change of pace, and I even mixed up my own version of black. As you might guess from the title, I hope to do more in the series.” -Steven Kozar
