“This was a unique and fun image to paint; it was also a lot more difficult than I expected. I had one fairly low-resolution reference photo to work from (which is not my normal method!), but I studied it very carefully, painting layer upon layer until I achieved the life-like quality I was striving for. This image is a nice departure from my normal landscape subject matter, but it still has interesting things happening with the color and light to make it a “Kozar” kind of painting. Plus, I don’t get to use grey very often!” -Steven Kozar
