“This is an early morning scene in late autumn, captured the same morning as ‘Morning Solitude.’ Not surprisingly, the two paintings make a great pair. This painting offered me the chance to use a very warm palette of colors-something I really enjoyed doing. In contrast to the prominent warm colors, there’s a great little dash of violet in the creek; one might wonder if it really was that color. Honestly, I don’t remember and I don’t care; this is art, not mere documentation!” -Steven Kozar
