“This is a road that I’ve driven down often, and I was pretty sure that I could find something really interesting to paint if I drove down it at sunrise on this warm summer day. Sure enough, when I came upon this spot and saw the sunlight breaking through the trees, I immediately began taking photos and imagining how I could translate this beautiful, panoramic scene into a watercolor.
