“I had already completed ‘Misty Morning-Spring Trees’ when I decided to paint this companion painting. I sometimes enjoy the process of working in a series or with a theme. Having some parameters to work within can be helpful in focusing my many ideas. On an overcast day, a soft blanket of light filters through the stratus cloud layer. It’s a saturated and subtle kind of light that I enjoy depicting with paintings like this.” -Steven Kozar
